The Global Animal Welfare Award 2021 aims to recognise people and institutions for their dedication and outstanding work, going “above and beyond” to protect and safeguard the welfare of animals and promote the animal welfare concept and approach in their daily lives.

Dr. Tickel is a veterinarian at the Institute for Infectious Animal Diseases, IIAD, a part of the Texas A&M University System, and Texas A&M AgriLife Research. He joined IIAD in 2018 as an animal emergency management subject matter resource with expertise in issues related to disease and disaster mitigation, prevention and response on national and international levels.

“Dr. Tickel has been instrumental as a veterinary leader in animal disasters and emergency management throughout his career, caring for both livestock and small animal emergencies,” said Heather Simmons, DVM, director of the Institute for Infectious Animal Diseases.

Our Expertise in Construction and Building is Growing

Our growing profile in the construction and building sector has seen us partner with one of the UK’s fastest growing construction companies in a major recruitment project tied in with the release of their dynamic new microsite promoting their expansion.

Women in construction and housebuilding feature prominently in the video campaign

Yorkshire-based Stonebridge Homes is planning to open new offices in the UK and needs to attract high quality employees in every aspect of home building and construction so they came to Good Call Media for

Major expansion planned by Stonebridge

support with the expansion programme.

We undertook a detailed planning process with the company and prepared existing team members for a series of case study interviews highlighting their individual roles and the profile of the teams they work with as well as the unique characteristics of working with Stonebridge. We also featured

aspects of the social scene at the company and filmed on several of their prestigious sites in Harrogate and Menston in Yorkshire. We used our camera drone to support the filming and edited a whole series of

video ‘thumbnails’ highlighting the different roles that will need to be filled in the future. These all feature on the special careers microsite that has been built by Stonebridge, attached to their main website.

The videos also have a strong emphasis on women who work in building and construction and the videos highlight interviews with women who help to lead the way with Stonebridge’s growing business.

Research has shown that video is a potent tool for companies who are looking to attract new employees as potential recruits view video content for far longer than casual visitors to websites. Video is also a key tool in highlighting the culture and values of organisations and the Stonebridge project featured the company’s strong values throughout.

Following on from the success of the initial video project, Stonebridge has appointed Good Call Media for a new series of filming projects to develop the microsite and also to create content that will show an overview of the Stonebridge ethos.

Good Call Media co-owner, Fiona Molloy, who is Good Call Media’s lead on the project said: “Our connections with the vibrant construction industry in the Yorkshire region stems from our involvement with the Yorkshire Property Awards over several years. Stonebridge saw our work in this area and it has been great to partner with a company that has such high standards, strong values and a fantastic story to tell about plans for expansion in the future.”

Watch out for the new Stonebridge video content coming soon!

“Prior to the Awards, Covid restrictions meant we could not travel to Sri Lanka to interview Dr. Perera,” said Nik. “We were very keen to have a video record of his amazing work with wildlife, so we were able to give him some simple tips and advice on shooting video footage with his camera and on smart phones…the results were truly incredible.”

Dr Perera works as a wildlife veterinarian at the Department of Wildlife Conservation in Sri Lanka. Operati
ng
with a dedicated team, he deals with all types of animals from endangered pangolins, to wild cats and elephants that are injured in the wild or areas of conflict.

He is an awardwinning author on animal welfare subjects and spends much of his time educating adults and children about the value of animal welfare in Sri Lanka’s rich population of wildlife.

Volition Signs Exclusive $28 million License and Supply Agreement with Heska

Good Call Media filmed in Las Vegas, USA, to prepare the way for a major new announcement by our clients, New York Stock Exchange-quoted Volition RX.

Long, drawn out, expensive tests are not what you want if you suspect your dog has cancer.

So many congratulations to Volition Vet, who after many years of scientific endeavour, signed an exclusive global supply and licensing agreement with Heska Corporation to distribute their Nu.Q® Vet Cancer Screening Test.   This will enable vets to screen for cancer in dogs using Volition’s simple blood test and one of Heska’s point of care test systems, receiving the results in their surgery right there and then.

“We are thrilled to announce this agreement with Heska, a company dedicated to developing the next generation of rapid, highly affordable, point-of-care diagnostics for companion animals,” commented Dr. Tom Butera, Chief Executive Officer of Volition Veterinary Diagnostics Development LLC.

“As such, we want to make our Nu.Q® Vet Cancer Screening Test as accessible as possible to veterinarians around the world, ensure cancer is detected earlier, and improve outcomes for pets and pet owners.”

Watch our film to hear more from Dr Tom Butera and Volition’s new partner Heska’s CEO Kevin Wilson.

Global filming for 2022 Welfare Awards – a series of dynamic reports

Over the next few weeks we will be running a series of video reports that we recorded across the globe in 2022.

Good Call Media’s, Nik Wood, hosted the           Awards live on stage in Abu Dhabi, UAE

The end of Covid travel restrictions in most regions of the world enabled Good Call Media to film the majority of winners of the 2022 World Veterinary Association (WVA) Global Welfare Awards, sponsored by our major client, Ceva Animal Health.

The winners of the 2022 Awards

The assignment involved travelling to different countries to work with the winners of the Awards and create colourful and dynamic ‘back-story’ videos highlighting the work of the winners and the reason why they won their award.

We will be showing the winning videos in a series of reports on this website in coming weeks. Good Call Media travelled to
Birmingham Alabama and Texas in the USA to film two winners from that region and then moved to Hannover in Germany and Nantes in France to record the Veterinary College of the year Award and the Welfare Student of the Year and finally Dubai in the UAE to work with the young veterinarian who had won the nomination for Middle East and Africa.

Good Call Media co-owner, Nik Wood, travelled to the WVA’s 37th Annual Congress in Abu Dhabi, UAE, to host the awards live on stage where each of the videos were shown to a packed conference auditorium at the welcome ceremony for the Congress,
