As part of a policy of supporting the communities where we live and work, were excited to highlight the development of a new original number on the latest album by South of England band, the TR5’s.
The band has become well know on the live music circuit for their blend of 50s skiffle and early 60s rock and roll, playing a wide variety of venues including leading festivals and central London gigs. in 2023 they were invited to play at
International Beatleweek, a 7 day, 7 night extravaganza. The event celebrated the music of those sons from Liverpool, John, Paul, George and Ringo, and took over iconic venues across the city with the sounds of ‘The Fabs’ reverberating around the city walls.
The TR5’s latest album ‘A Triumph’ features an original number, Drummin’ Man’, written by the band’s former lead guitarist, Richey, who wanted to celebrate the role of drummers in bands like the late Taylor Hawkins. We used our interviewing skills to trace the evolution of the song to portray the unique elements of the number. The album is available
Good Call Media co-owner, Nik Wood, said: “We came across the band after forging a friendship with our neighbour Harry Barsk (known as Finn in the TR5’s) who originates from Sweden. He invited us along to a few of the band’s gigs and we were so impressed with the band, that we decided to give them a hand in promoting their new album”.
Drummin’ Man has a fascinating beat and tells an interesting story but, despite its title, also promotes the skills of women who play the drums in bands.
