Video – a great way to promote recruitment

Ever since Covid, the competition for talent has got hotter and hotter, particularly in construction and the built environment.

We are increasingly being asked to design videos to help with hiring and recruitment in various of these sectors, most recently for UK consultancy SRE.

What started as Malcolm Maclean Consultancy producing energy and sustainability statements for the residential sector is now SRE Ltd, delivering over 40 different services covering sustainability, energy and building physics for the
commercial, mixed-use and residential sectors. With 90% of their work being for return or referral clients

The company has  ambitious plans for growing the business and for providing yet more services. But they need to ensure they are getting the best in class when it comes to talent, which is why we were called in to produce a series of videos depicting what it is like to work for SRE.

Filming in Orlando, Florida for WVC 2023

Good Call Media was commissioned to cover the 2023 Western Veterinary Congress, in Orlando, Florida, the world’s largest vet show, for our fast-growing client, Volition Veterinary.

Our video, produced at the event, highlights the latest news for Volition Veterinary, which has signed several significant deals in recent years.

Filming in Australia for moves to protect the iconic koala

Good Call Media travelled to Queensland, Australian to film the latest moves to protect the endangered koala in the wild.

The Ceva Wildlife Research Fund has made a donation to support the development of a new vaccine that is seen as a major breakthrough in protecting the iconic Australian koala population.

The Australian federal government listed koalas as an endangered species in February 2022 due to habitat loss, which has impacted the population between 30% and 50%. The widespread problem of chlamydia infection among the reduced population of the marsupials is causing blindness, infertility and sometimes death and thus hampering the population dynamic.

The donation will fund trials required to obtain a supply permit for the vaccine from the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medical Authority (APVMA). The program is designed to demonstrate that the vaccine, to be used in the field with wild koala populations, is as effective as those that were used in the initial trials on animals in captivity, which

proved a high level of efficacy in treating chlamydia in koalas.

The Ceva Wildlife Research Fund is also contributing to the transfer of the vaccine from the field trial stage to standard production in a GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) certified environment which will result in sustainable and sufficient scale supplies being made available to immunize koalas in wildlife centres throughout Australia.

Dr. Finola McConaghy, Technical Service Manager at Ceva Australia, who is working with the Ceva Wildlife Research Fund, said: ”The only way to get real control over chlamydia in koalas is to prevent it and they’ve shown that this vaccine is effective at prevention so we need to obtain the permit if it is to be used more widely and this is a way we can have a real impact on the disease incidence in the population and protect the koala from potentially becoming extinct.”

International veterinary students – work in the community

Good Call Media is promoting the growing relationship between the International Veterinary Students’ Association (IVSA) and the leading global veterinary health company, Ceva Animal Health.

Ceva’s partnership with the IVSA has flourished thanks to our involvement with the World Veterinary Association (WVA) and their annual Global Welfare Awards, which we

Nik Wood on stage with student veterinarians at the Global Animal Welfare Awards 2022

have hosted for five years. The WVA has a category for the Welfare Student of the Year (managed through the IVSA) and the Veterinary College or University of the year in the field of animal welfare.

At this year’s awards in Abu Dhabi, hosted by Good Call Media’s, Nik Wood, talks were held with the IVSA and, as a result, Ceva agreed to continue to sponsor student community projects in different areas of the world.

In turn the IVSA invited Ceva to submit a speaker and a video to their annual Congress, held in Brazil this year.

We made the video that was shown and you can see it here:

Video recruitment – another big hit

The latest in our growing portfolio of companies working in the built environment commissioned us to produce a series of videos aimed at supporting their recruitment drive to attract the best talent.

Potential recruits have been shown to engage in online video in much more detail than ‘passive’ visitors to video sites so they are a prime target for this type of social media
campaign.

They have worked with more than 500 clients, on over 2,500 projects throughout the UK, and is well respected within the construction and renewable energy industries. Over 80% of their work is for return clients.

Video highlighting Colombian award winner

We were sent some excellent video from a local camera crew in Colombia to illustrate that country’s winner of the 2022 World Veterinary Association’s Global Animal Welfare Awards 2022, supported by our client Ceva Animal Health.

The project was a perfect example of how to use teamwork to bring a project to the mark despite the heavy restrictions that were created by the Covid-19 pandemic. We commissioned the video crew to follow Dr. Juan C. Carrascal, who was declared that Latin American winner of the Awards in 2022.

“The crew really went the extra mile during their filming,” said Good Call Media co-founder, Nik Wood, who hosted the Awards live on stage in Abu Dhabi, UAE. “We were then able to edit the material in the UK prior to the Awards and the result was a dynamic and colourful video report highlighting the amazing work of Dr. Carrascal.”

Dr Carrascal is highly recognised and respected both in Colombia and in Latin America for his work on the subject of animal health and welfare. As Animal Welfare and One Health leader and with his continuous work for several years and career he has offered science-based and academic support to develop the creation of the animal welfare framework in the city of Montería, Colombia.

He has also brought significant impact changes in the Department of Córdoba population with projects with the community giving a better quality of life both, to people, animals and the environment and in the region from the One Health and One Welfare framework.

The Global Animal Welfare Awards 2022 aimed to recognise people and institutions for their dedication and outstanding work going ‘above and beyond’ to protect and safeguard the welfare of animals and promoting the animal welfare concept and approach in their daily life.

The official award ceremony was held during the 37th World Veterinary Association Congress in Abu Dhabi, UAE to present the awards to 6 veterinarians, a veterinary student, a veterinary nurse and the University of Veterinary Medicine. During the ceremony, short videos were presented highlighting the work of each of the award recipients in their respective fields under a single common goal – improving the welfare of animals.

The WVA and Ceva Santé Animale are thrilled to continue their collaborations to underline and recognise the work done by outstanding people and institutions to advance animal welfare.

Danish winner changes the lives of laboratory animals

The latest in our series of videos highlighting the winners of the 2022 World Veterinary Association Global Welfare Awards, sponsored by our client, Ceva Animal Health, takes us to Copenhagen, Denmark and the work of a remarkable individual who has changed the welfare of laboratory animals for the better.

Professor Axel Kornerup Hansen has been deeply engaged in veterinary care of laboratory animals since 1987. In his work in on the change of laboratory animal housing and how laboratory animals are handled today.

In 1997 he became a professor in laboratory animal science and welfare at the University of Copenhagen School of Veterinary Medicine. In addition to improving the organisation of the veterinary use of research animals, he built up a major teaching system, which today is probably the largest of its kind in the world.

The Awards were held during a glittering ceremony in Abu Dhabi, UAE as part of the 37th WVA Congress, held there and involving veterinarians from all around the globe. Good Call Media’s co-founder, Nik Wood, hosted the event live on stage and we were commissioned to film and edit all the videos highlighting the work of each winner in different zones of the world.

Punchy video for Stonebridge

Our relationship with home builders Stonebridge is really developing.

They were delighted with a series of videos that we produced for their new, recently launched recruitment zone, as they are aiming to appoint extra team members to cope with their plans for rapid expansion in the UK, so they asked us to produce a colourful and dynamic film for an event aimed at the younger professionals, being held in Leeds.

This was the result:

And, hot on the heels of the recruitment work, we are in Yorkshire again this week filming with the Stonebridge team so watch out for the results of that project!
